We bid farewell to Peter J. Schuyten of Southfield, Massachusetts, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 9, 2024 at the age of 80. Peter touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Peter leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy E. Schuyten (Sobek) and Egbert Johannes Schuyten. He is survived by: his pet Teddy; his former wife Jodi Rothe of New Marlborough; his sisters, Kathy Sebestyen, Candace Massey and Vicki Fuscaldo; and his stepmother Dolly Schuyten. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home (426 Main St, Great Barrington, MA 01230). A memorial service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Christ Trinity Lutheran/Episcopal Church (180 Main St, Sheffield, MA 01257).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory may be made to Music Mountain or Christ Trinity Lutheran/Episcopal Church in care of the Finnerty & Stevens Funeral home.
