He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Smith and Irene Smith; and his brother-in-law Richard O'Connor. He is survived by: his wife Doris M Smith (Hickey); his children, Michael J Smith (Lauren) of Charleston, SC, Ryan J Smith of Sturbridge, MA and Brienne J Smith (Lisa) of Worcester, MA.; his grandchildren, Ellie, Quinn, Garrett and Presley; his sisters, Connie Jones (Gilbert) of Springfield, Linda Szenkum (William Muldoon) of South Hadley, Beverly O'Connor of East Longmeadow, Barbara LaChapelle (Craig) of East Longmeadow, Colleen Welch (Dennis) of East Longmeadow and Eileen Doty (James) of East Longmeadow; and his brother-in-law Richard E Hickey (June) of Swedesboro, NJ. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
