She was predeceased by: her husband Domingo Mateo; her son Johnny Mateo; and her sister Hilda Velez. She is survived by: her children, Noel Mateo, Magda Tappenden (William), Luz Mateo and Domingo Mateo (Marilyn); her grandchildren, David of Texas, Mercedes of Spencer and Aida Parada (Dan) of Chelmsford; her children, Felix Alicea, Jr. of Worcester and Olivia Tappenden of Pomfret Center; and her siblings, Maria Monserrate Alers of Southbridge, Ana Lydia Velez of Southbridge, Carmen Sara Lugo of Staten Island, NY and Ruben Velez of Puerto Rico. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
