He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harry Barker and Mary Barker (Fallon); his family, Joe and Boston Edison; his wife Doris Sullivan; his brothers, Harry and Robert; his children, Steve (Clotide), Bruce, Dianne McAvoy (Brian) and Joyce Leckey (John); and his grandchildren, Christian, Julia, Alex, Brian, Sean, Kimberly, Jennifer, Jordan, Paul, Heather, Michelle and Thomas. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
