He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis X. McDonough and Eleanor P. McDonough (Higgins); and his siblings, Marguerite McDonough and Christopher McDonough. He is survived by: his wife Katherine Ann McDonough (Griffin); his daughters, Patricia Elizabeth McDonough (Eli Weissman) of Washington, DC and Sarah McDonough Greene (Patrick Greene) of Dobbs Ferry; and his siblings, John McDonough of Kihei, Hawaii, Mary Ellen McDonough of Watertown, MA, Charles McDonough of Jamaica Plain, MA, Walter McDonough (Eileen) of West Roxbury, MA, Paula Tibert of Arnold, MD and Thomas McDonough (Mary Lou Geary) of Dorchester, MA.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Due to the COVID pandemic, funeral services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Providence College are welcome.
