He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Virginia Higgins (Clark); his sons, Michael Higgins of Yarmouth Port, Christopher Higgins of Hermon, ME, Matthew Higgins (Laurie) of Quincy and Timothy Higgins (Yarmouth); his siblings, Andrea Mellor (Robert), Kathleen Earle and Peter Higgins; and his grandchildren, Kevin, Lauren, Nicholas, Scott, Ryan and Adam.
