He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Raymond Short of Methuen, MA and Exilda Lumina Short (Caron) of Lowell, MA; his sister S. Lorraine Sollows (Short); and his nephew Rick Sollows. He is survived by: his children, Eric Raymond Short of Hyannis, MA and Rebecca Marie Robinson (Short); his children-in-law, David Robinson of Norwell, MA and Abbey Short (Goeldner) of South Dennis, MA; his grandchildren, Choo-Choo, Gwendolyn, Lillian, Eleanor, Sophia, Lucas, Blake and Adam; his former wife Patricia Anne Short Holmes (Mallen); and his nephew Jeff Sollows. He is also survived by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
