He was predeceased by: his parents, John Connolly and Nora Connolly (Flaherty); his wife Jane Connolly (Thorne); and his siblings, Mary McCone, Nora "Aggie" Mantville, Margaret "Dolly" Talbot, Baby John Connolly, Edward Connolly, Michael James Connolly, Joseph Connolly, Thomas Connolly and Patricia "Patsy" Connolly.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Lennon (Sean) of South Weymouth, Mary Connolly of Weymouth, Kevin Connolly (Kelly) of South Weymouth and John Connolly Jr. (Ellen) of South Weymouth; his grandchildren, Christopher (Alyssa), Katelyn, Kerrin (Tom), Paul, Seamus, Brendan, Liam and Billy; and his great grandchildren, Taylor, Savannah, Cullem and Cameron. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
