He is survived by: his wife Cynthia; his son Martin Christian; his daughter-in-law Linda Christian; his daughter Carolyn Bass; his son-in-law Darrel Bass; and his grandsons, Larry D. Johnson II and Christian J. Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Hospice and Palliative Care or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
