Eleanor I. Bascom Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor I. Bascom of South Hadley, Massachusetts, born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 29, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Peter and Ida Allis Vanderpoel (Phinney); her sons, Christopher Bascom of Westfield, MA and Paul Bascom of Schenectady, NY; and her brothers, Wilbur Vanderpoel, Peter Vanderpoel of Ware, MA and William Vanderpoel of So.

She is survived by: her children, John Bascom (Teresa) of Butler, PA, Roy (Cheryl) of Westfield, MA, Pam Johnston (Willy) of Azle, TX and Cindy Pelletier (Garry) of Colrain, MA; her siblings, Richard Vanderpoel (Althea) of Bloomfield, CT and Peg Slate of Granby, MA; her sister-in-law Bobbie Vanderpoel of South Hadley, MA; her daughter-in-law Mary Bascom (Paul) of Enfield, CT.; and her friend Gerry-Darlene Bates. She is also survived by 17 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, 10 Great-Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.
