Ruth Arlene Campbell Obituary
Campbell, Ruth Arlene (Condon) 97, of South Dennis formerly of Sandwich and Cotuit died on Monday, December 23, 2013. She was the wife of the late George Campbell. Ruth grew up in North Attleboro the youngest child of Joseph and Mary (Lennon) Condon. She was a graduate of North Attleboro High School and Framingham State Teachers College.
She earned her Master's in Education from Bridgewater State College. Ruth taught 5th grade at the Sagamore Grammer School. She retired in 1983. After retiring she and her late husband traveled and spent many winters in Sarasota, Fl and Myrtle Beach, SC. Ruth was a docent at the Sandwich Glass Museum and a member of the Framingham Alumni.
She is survived by her children, Elise George of Hyannis, Clark Campbell and his wife Olga of Lodi, NY and Arlene Wennerstrom of South Dennis who she lived with since her husband's death in 2003. She is the Grandmother of Lori, Eric, Sandra, Rebecca and Brian. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Harry Condon, Margaret Condon and Elizabeth "Betty" Judge. A Funeral will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Morris, O'Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
Burial will follow at Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit, MA. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
