He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph G. Egan and Jane M. Egan (Hampston); and his siblings, Joseph, Thomas, James, Lawrence, David, George, Edward, Paul, Dorothy Egan and Patricia Shickolovich.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Katharine and Callan Elizabeth; his brothers, John, Robert and William; and his nephew Thomas Maloney (Shannon).
