Marlene F. (Pitcher) Smithers, a lifelong Somerville resident, died on December 6, 2024, she was 82. Marlene was born on January 26, 1942 in Somerville and lived there for over 70 years. She is the daughter of the late Marion (Logan) Pitcher and Russell Pitcher. Marlene was the sister to the late Adrienne (Tootsie) Gowen, the late Marion (Terry) Lett, the late Gail Pacifico and survived by Russellyne Robbins..
Marlene was a dedicated mother to Melanie F. Smithers and is survived by her daughter Marnie F Smithers, Chanel Powers and the late Michael John Smithers.
Marlene was a successful business owner of Marlene F Smithers Insurance Agency, Inc along with her late husband Michael F Smithers who owned Smithers Real Estate i. Ball Sq on Broadway Somerville for over 25 years.
Marlene sat on the zoning board for tthe City of Sonerville and the Condominium Review board along with the Somerville Lion's club along with being a commercial and residential property owner.
Marlene was devoted to Somerville and would shine her Somerville banner for all to hear.
Marlene died of unnatural causes and unexpectedly and she will be deeply and sorely missed by her devoted broken hearted daughter Melanie
My mother was ripped from me unjustly. My mother would have wanted a wake so I had my own wake just me and my mom. I did her clothes her hair her makeup put things including her purse in her casket. My mom died at my sister's calculated plan and should not be dead.
