He was predeceased by: his spouse Miriam (Rice); his siblings, Nina (Joseph Ritucci) and Mary Marra; his husband Rocco DiPalma; and also, Demetrio Marra, Ralph Marra (Mary), Philip Marra (Lydia), Joseph Marra (Roseanne), Antoinette Thomas, Rose Columbia Marra, Anthony "Tony" Marra, George Marra and William Marra (Julia).

He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Ellena Marra, Marion Marra, Maria Marra, Carol R. Barnes, Dennison G. Rice and Ellen Burt; and his godchildren, Josephine Ruthwicz, Marian Morecock and Elizabeth (Rice). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and dear relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, per John's request, with the quote of Saint Monica; "This one thing I ask of you, that where ever you may be, you always remember me at the alter of God." John asks, that you please keep him close in prayer and have Masses said in his name.
