He was predeceased by: his parents, Lincoln Schmidt and Lillian Schmidt (Haaf); his wife Idella (Schreiber); his son Harold; and his sister Lenore.
He is survived by: his children, Duane Schmidt (Pat) of Buckland, MA, Garry Schmidt (Cindi) of Winchester, NH and Sharon Record (Chris) of Buckland; his brother Bruce Schmidt of Davidson, NC; and his close friend Rita Taker. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Pioneer Valley Hospice & Palliative Care.
