He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Carlin and George Carlin; and his brother Benjamin Carlin. He is survived by: his wife Joan Carlin (Schaffer); his children, Patti Kozol (Neil Kozol) and Richard Carlin; and his grandchildren, Dr. Stephanie Berlinski (Chris Berlinski) and Jonathan Kozol.
Due to Covid-19, funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's memory may be made to the Dementia and Alzheimer's organizations who are working to find a treatment and cure for this dreadful disease.
