She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Nunes and Maria Nunes (Lopes); her sister Maria Pelicano; and her granddaughter Olivia Catarina. She is survived by: her husband Charles M. Catarina; her children, Lisa Lyon of Seekonk, Linda Johnston (Peter) of Warwick, Carl Catarina (Tammy) of Millville, MA and Paul Catarina (Diane) of North Smithfield; her brother Antonio Nunes of Antioch, CA; her grandchildren, Derek, Christopher Lyon, Andrea Jawczak, Peter Johnston, Addi Catarina, Aaron and Brandon Catarina; her great grandchild Jack Jawczak; and her brothers, Jose Nunes and Hector Nunes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Cory's Crusaders, Inc., a foundation that provides assistance to the families of children battling brain cancer, and donations may be mailed to 45 Slater Drive, Harrisville RI 02830.
