He was loved and cherished by many people including: his pet Spike; his parents, Richard Eckhouse, Sr. and Lois Eckhouse Bloch; his wife Ruth Maulucci; his grandchildren, Michela, Eli, Henry Eckhouse, Maddox and Chava Weisz; and his siblings, John (Rachel Blau) and Margot Weiss. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scituate Youth Sailing Program or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
