He was predeceased by : his parents, Myron N. Lane and Mary Hayward Lane; his grandparents, Daniel Baxter Hayward, Ethel Bartlett Hayward, Thomas Newell Lane and Minnie A. Lane; and his former life partner Joan Lundin Lane.

He is survived by : his children, Lisa L. Countryman (Brad) of York, ME, David B. Lane (Lauren) of Hanover, MA and Peter L. Lane (Victoria) of Hingham, MA; his brother Daniel H. Lane of Spokane, WA.; his grandchildren, Samuel Ramus, Calvin Ramus, Anna Lane Newcomb, Molly Lane Pappas, Matthew Lane, Erica Lane Burison, Wesley Lane, Courtney Lane and Harrison Lane; his wife Catherine Holway Lane (Busnengo); his stepdaughters, Kimberly A. Holway of Cumberland, RI and Katherine S. Anderson (Erik) of Norwell, MA; and his grandchildren, Amiah Holway, Frederick Anderson and Kendal Anderson. He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren.
