He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose C. Fontes and Anna Eugenia Fontes (Rodrigues); and his sibling Cristianinho Fontes. He is survived by: his wife Maria "Socorro" Fontes (Ribeiro); his children, Miguel "Larry" Fontes (Ilda), Jose "Tommy" Fontes (Elida), Ana "Nonita" Fontes-Fernandes and Kelly DosSantos (Jorge DosSantos); his grandchildren, Gabrielle Fontes, Issiah Fontes, Jayden DosSantos, Lazarus Fontes, Ava DosSantos, Mylee DosSantos, Zoe Fernandes, Zion Fernandes, Elida Fontes, Jonah DosSantos, Celena Vieira and Deja Vieira; and his sister Eugenia Gonsalves. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Although he knew that Parkinson's disease along with Dementia would eventually deprive him of his physical abilities and memories, he strived to remain that caring man.
