He was predeceased by: his wife Mary E. Flynn (MacNeil); his parents, Charles Flynn and Delia Flynn (Duggan); and his siblings, Mary Flynn, Charles Flynn, Katherine McCann, Irene Johnson and Terry Dwyer.

He is survived by: his brother-in-law Vinny; his niece Michelle; his children, John E. Flynn of Fairfield and Michelle Flynn; and his grandchildren, Jack, Ted, Peter and Molly Flynn.
