He was predeceased by: his wife Marlene H. Hegarty (Amery); his parents, John Hegarty and Nellie Hegarty (Connolly); and his siblings, Anna Kelly, Jeremiah Hegarty, John Hegarty, Joseph Hegarty, Timothy Hegarty and Patrick Hegarty.
He is survived by: his sons, William Hegarty, Jr. (Maureen) of Saugus, James Hegarty (Barbara) of Danvers, Daniel Hegarty of Saugus and David Hegarty of Billerica; his grandsons, Matthew Hegarty and Ryan Hegarty of Nicholas Hegarty, D. J; and his great grandchild Twila Hegarty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
