He was predeceased by: his parents, Aurilla Countaway (Stockwell) and John Countaway; his wife Shirley Countaway (Comfort); and his brothers, John and William Countaway.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debra A. Bashford (Robert) of Brattleboro, VT and Janice L. Countaway (David Ralph) of Columbus, OH.; his grandchildren, Jessica Bashford, Kate Bashford and Kevin Ralph; and his great grandchildren, Havilah Altstadt and Kai Bashford. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
