It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edward C. Nelson (Saugus, Massachusetts), born in Lowell, Massachusetts, who passed away on November 27, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Walsh and Margaret Nelson (Neal); and his sister Joan Maher. He is survived by: his wife Pauline (Murfitt); his children, Gary Nelson (Karen) of New Hampshire, Robert Nelson (Laurie) of Saugus and Wendy Demeris (Peter) of New Hampshire; his grandchildren, Philip, Amanda, Nicholas, Derek, Arianna and Angelina; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Brooks, Ivy and Myles; and his stepsister Constance Jones.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association @ alz.org/manh.

“Dear Pauline and children: I just learned about the passing of Eddie as I convey my deepest sympathy. Eddie was a friend who helped me when I appeared from seemingly out of nowhere at MIT. He showed me the ins and outs of the "plotting room" as it was known and he entrusted me on numerous occasions to run that room with the same meticulousness that he did and to archive the maps in the same organized way he did. I will forever remember Eddie. Sincerely, Len Keshishian”
