She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Hollis and Thelma Hollis (Arendt); and her son James J. Doherty. She is survived by: her husband Joseph P. Doherty, Jr.; her children, John Doherty (Tammy) of Rowley and Shannon Rivera (David) of Saugus; her grandchildren, Jessica, Austin, Shauna, Brianna, Kyle and Nina; and her siblings, Joseph Hollis, Stephen Hollis and Gayle Hollis of Lynn. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.
