Robert F. Gosselin Sr. Obituary
Robert Ferdinand Gosselin, Sr. of Sandwich, MA passed away on June 24, 2024. Born in West Quincy, MA to Rene Gosselin & Mary (Neuner) Gosselin.
He attended Quincy High School class of 1952 & attended Wentworth Institute where he received a certificate in construction technology.
Bob was drafted to the St. Louis Cardinals organization from high.
School. He played in their farm league until a shoulder injury forced early retirement. Upon return to Quincy he was a proud firefighter for the City of Quincy for 23 years. During this time he raised his family, taking avid part in coaching sports, fishing & hunting.
His love of carpentry lead him to pursue this profession part time teaching all his boys & many other young people the pride & satisfaction of building, cabinet making & remodeling. Many of them went on to work in their own companies with Bob's guidance.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Jeffrey, grandson Matthew, son-in-law Robbie & Brothers John & Bernard.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Janet MacInnis Gosselin of 41 years, 7 children, 6 spouses who have married into the family, 20 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren. Also his sister Teresa of West Quincy, MA & many nieces & nephews.
Visitation for Bob will be Sunday June 30th, 4-7 pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA. A mass of Christian burial will be on Monday July 1, 2024 at 11:00 at Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road, East Sandwich, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Quincy High School baseball program in Bob's memory.
