McHugh Sr. of Sandwich, Massachusetts, born in Watertown, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Irish McHugh and Martin McHugh; his sister Elinor Sylvester; his siblings-in-law, Curtis Woodcock and Phyllis Hurley Cafferky; and his nephew Fran Sylvester.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen Hurley McHugh of Sandwich, MA; his children, John McHugh, Jr. (Tina) of Needham, MA, Mary Beth Carlisle of Duxbury, MA, Tracey Hulett (Mike) of Duxbury, MA and Meghan Grimaldi (Mike) of Duxbury, MA; his grandchildren, Caitlyn and Sean Carlisle; his children, Connor, Colin, Braeden Hulett, Lucy, Jack, Brendan McHugh, Catherine and Caroline Grimaldi; his sisters, Marion Woodcock and Margaret O'Neill (Michael); his nieces, Debbie Sylvester, Kate King (O'Neill), Alyson Genovese, Kaitlyn Kyle and Corinne Goelhert; and his friend Big Mac.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
