He was predeceased by: his parents, Melva K. Ernst and Conrad Ernst; and his brothers, Richard and Donald Ernst. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Ernst (Mistal); his daughter Kelly Rebello; his grandson Brendan Rebello; and his siblings, Connie Baugh and Mike Ernst. He is also survived by his wife, daughter, and grandson, and many friends.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Longhill Cemetery (105 Beach Rd, Salisbury, MA 01952).
