Elizabeth Stone Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Stone of Salisbury, Massachusetts, born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, who passed away on March 18, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph VanAmburg and Winifred VanAmburg (Black); her former husband Benjamin "Bill" Smolski; her husband Joseph E. Stone, Jr.; her son Tom Smolski; and her siblings, Helen Rowe, June VanAmburg and Ralph VanAmburg.

She is survived by: her daughters, Gale Colby of Amesbury and Carol Melville (Rick) of Merrimac; her grandchildren, Keith, Mai Colby of Brookline, Kim Colby of Somerville, Kristen Smolski of Amesbury, Ben, Aileen Smolski of Amesbury, Rachel, Mike Mezzetti of Amesbury, Stephen, Sarah Melville of Salisbury and Kayla Melville of Merrimac; her great grandchildren, Hunter, Ben, Tommy, Timmy, Andrew, Owen and Callen; and her sister Mabel Jancewicz. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made Betty's name to the Byfield Parish Church.
