She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Carmichael and Virginia Carmichael (Ring). She is survived by: her husband Richard P. Zegarowski; her son John; her sisters, Sherry Carmichael, Sharon Reil (John) and Holly Fader (Mark); her stepchildren, Julie Burgess and Paul Stiffler; her parents-in-law, Anne, David Devoe, Karen Zegarowski (Melissa Mann) and Alan Zegarowski; and her friend Diane Valle. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a memorial contributions to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 156 Federal St., Salem, MA 01970.

“I accidentally stumbled upon Sally's obituary while doing some work on ancestry. I knew her while I was a medical student at Harvard in the 1970s. She was the first true love of my life and we were engaged for 6 months way back then. Although she ended the relationship, she has always had a piece of my heart. A bit of me died when I read of her passing. When we were together, she made me feel whole. My sincerest prayers go out to her immediate and extended family. Ken Bollin”
