He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sprague Upton and Dianne Upton (Schaller). He is survived by: his children, Michael, Melissa, Isabel and Thomas Upton; the mother of his children Kristin Patota; and his siblings, David Upton and Elizabeth Blackburn. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A hard and dedicated worker, Michael started his early career in the construction industry where he was the proprietor of his own concrete foundation business for several years.
