He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick W. Simpson and Eileen I. Simpson (Murray); and his brother Fredrick R. Simpson. He is survived by: his brother James G. Simpson (Christina) of Beverly; and his nieces and nephews, Anthony Russo, Julie DeSilva, Gina Russo, Diana Adams, Meaghan, Maureen, Jared, Heather, Patrick Simpson, John Boyle, Linda Jackson and Joseph Burke.

Due to the current restrictions for COVID-19 his services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's name may be made to Northeast Animal Shelter, Salem MA.
