It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew Josef Morrissey of Salem, Massachusetts, born in Beverly, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 29, 2023, at the age of 35, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his cousin Johnny Miley. He is survived by: his parents, Diana Morrissey (Kister) of Danvers and Daniel Morrissey (Patricia) of Rockport; his daughter Madeline Nessa Morrissey; his brother Adam Morrissey of Rockport; his grandmothers, Irene Morrissey (Kim Ottinger) of Danvers and Ursula Stanwood of Hamilton; his aunts and uncles, Paula St. Amand (Nick) of Rockport, Lisa Miley (John) of Beverly, Susan Morrissey (Greg Chane) of Salem, Michelle Russell, David Morrissey (Lisa) of Bevely, John and Scott Stanwood; his cousins, Justine, Nicole, Raymond, Ryan, Hannah, Kelly, Daniel, Megan and Sara; and also, Peter and Xenia Ottinger.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Matt's memory to Advocates, a nonprofit committed to helping people with mental health and substance use challenges.
