He was predeceased by: his close friend Patricia "Patty" Zeglinsky; his parents, James R. Amato and Jean A. Amato (Marciello); and his brother Philip Amato David Amato. He is survived by: his children, Pamela J. Amato, Kellie J. Amato, Dean W. Amato and Dana W. Amato; his grandchildren, Danielle M. Glenn (McNeil), Christopher J. Dandreo, Taylor M. McNeil, Steven J. Dandreo, Morgan Ellis, Niko W. Amato and Gianna M. Amato; his great grandchild O'rion J. Landry; his brother James Amato; his daughter-in-law Maria Amato; and also, Suzanne L. Amato and Suzanne L. Fratus. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
