He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nolbeta Bernardes Avila and Margarito Bernardez; his wife Maria Bernardez (Arzu) of Salem; his children, Zaida Bernardez, Alexandra Bernardez, Mariana Bernardez and Judy Bernardez; and his grandchildren, Jose, Seleni, Matthew, Amani, Sophia, Raul, Alia and Angel. He was also cherished by his 15 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
