He is survived by: his wife Maria Moniz Sampaio; his daughters, Isabel Sampaio-Medeiros and Elisa DeMelo (Jose); his grandchildren, Ashley DeMelo (Paula), Branden DeMelo, Sean Sampaio-Medeiros and Phyllisha Santiago (Oscar); and his great grandchildren, Amelia Santiago and Adryanna Santiago.
