He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Marie Donovan (Casey); his parents, James Sr. Donovan and Marie Donovan (Cullen); and his son James John Donovan III. He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia Mento (Joseph) of Danvers, Mary Kate Zipper (Frank) of Salem and Colleen Thibodeau (Michael) of Danvers; his grandchildren, Samantha, Thomas Mento, Meaghan, Troy Zipper, Molly, Jack and Jimmy Thibodeau; and his siblings, Robert Donovan, William Donovan and Patricia Black of Danvers.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the O'Donnell Cremations-Funerals (167 Maple St, Danvers, MA 01923). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Greenlawn Cemetery (57 Orne St, Salem, MA 01970).
