It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Herbert MacKey Jr. of Salem, Massachusetts, who passed away on May 13, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Florence Mackey (McInnis); his parents, Herbert L. Sr. Mackey and Alice Mackey (Geary); and his siblings, Daniel Mackey and Mary Nabozny.

He is survived by: his daughters, Elaine Mackey of Salem and Kathy Locke (Andrew) of Beverly; his grandchildren, Brianna Mackey, Ryan and Reagan Locke; and his siblings, Alice Johnson of Peabody, Celia Berlyn, Edward and Charles T. Mackey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

All are required to wear face coverings and to practice social distancing.

When visiting my brother I always looked forward to visiting your dads place. It was even a most special treat when I actually caught your dad there. Such a nice kind man. He would show me all around inside and out. His birds were beautiful! He always sent me off with one of his creations. They sit proudly in my garden. What a generous man. I will miss him. Bea Testa”
