We are sad to announce that on April 8, 2022, at the age of 83, Francis John Bates of Salem, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara J. Bates (Murray); and his parents, Francis Joseph and Helena Bates (Debski). He is survived by: his children, Sherry Myslinski (Mark) of Salem, Laurie Dempsey of Derry, N. H., Wendy Michaud (Ronald) of Wenham and Scott F. Bates (Kathy) of Middleton; his grandchildren, Bradley, Matthew, Scott, Lindsay, Derek, Olivia, Sydney and Shylah; his great grandchildren, Sophia, Emma, Maddie, Kaden and Isla; and his brother Mickey Bates of Salem. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105.
