He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gordon Merry and Marjorie Merry (Shepard); his wife Geneva Merry (Douglass); his children, Pamela McKenzie (Scott) and David (Heather); his brothers, Roger Merry, Donald Merry and Ronald Merry; his grandchildren, Clifford, Robert McKenzie, Kendra and Eric McQuarrie; and his brother David Merry.
