Vincie P. Woodhams Obituary
Vincie P. (Ventimiglia) Woodhams, 85, of Rockport, MA wife of the late Hugh W. Woodhams passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side.
She was born in Gloucester, MA on March 21, 1937, daughter of the late Francisco and the late Madeline M. (Scola) Ventimiglia.
Vincie was a graduate of Gloucester High School and later went on to train for Radiology Technology at Massachusetts General Hospital. She worked for 44 years as a Registered Technician in Radiology at MGH, Addison Gilbert Hospital and Lahey Clinic in Burlington from which she retired.
She is survived by her sister Grace V. Simpson, younger sister, Joanne Serio and brother-in-law, Joseph Serio, sisters-in-law Virginia Ventimiglia and Darlene Ventimiglia. She is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews and their children living across the United States. She was especially close to her niece Beth Simpson of Rockport and nephew Frank Ventimiglia and wife Laura of Gloucester, MA.
She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Samuel and wife Mary, John and wife Dorothy, Philip, and Frank, niece Barbara Ventimiglia and nephew Frank Ventimiglia III.
She donated to countless causes near and dear to her heart. She loved to read and made frequent use of the Sawyer Free Library, which she faithfully supported. She enjoyed painting in oils and charcoal and dabbled in calligraphy. She enjoyed knitting and donated items to pre-schools for the children. Her greatest passion was gardening. She took great pride in growing flowers, vegetables, and a variety of herbs, which she used in her cooking. She loved to experience other cultures and took every opportunity she could to travel with her sister Grace. They took several cruises and overall visited more than15 countries. Together they also enjoyed trips with their sister Joanne and her husband, Joe. She had a quick wit and showered her numerous cats over the years with love and affection. She will be missed by all who knew her and spent time with her.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no services at this time. A celebration of her life and scattering of ashes will be held on a later date by her family.
