Sheryl A. Frontierro Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Sheryl Ann (Silva) Frontierro, 64, of Rockport. She passed away peacefully at Lahey Hospital in Burlington following a brief illness and a ten-year battle with cancer on Saturday, May 27, 2023, just shy of her 65th birthday with both her devoted husband and dearest friend by her side. We are heartbroken to lose someone so special.
Born on May 29, 1958, to the late Leroy (Roy) Silva, Jr. and Grace M. (Campbell) Silva, she was the oldest of four children and only daughter. Sheryl was a lifelong resident of Rockport and a graduate of Rockport High School class of 1976. On February 14, 1982, she married the love of her life, Michael A. Frontierro, and the two spent the next 41 years together. They raised three daughters and were blessed with three sons-in-law and eight beautiful grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as, "Decere.".
Sheryl was an avid gambler, beginning back when she used to play cards with her grandparents as a child. She then moved on to Bingo with her mother at St. Ann's Church and continued going all the way until COVID put a stop to it. Sheryl also enjoyed playing KENO, scratching tickets, had an immense love of slot machines and most recently was introduced to online sports betting where she'd ask advice from her oldest grandchild, Brandon. More than anything else, "Decere" loved to watch all her grandchildren in their extracurricular activities including basketball, hockey, dance, softball, soccer, band, chorus and orchestra concerts, and geography bees. She was so proud of all their accomplishments and rarely missed any of them. Sheryl also kept in close contact with friends she made while working for more than 20 years at Rockport Elementary School. The group is affectionately known as "The Breakfast Club" and regularly met on Fridays for many years. No matter what she was going through, she never once complained and always had a smile on her face. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Mike, she leaves behind her daughters and sons-in-law, Krystal and Larry Fleming, Danielle and Tim O'Connell, Lindsay and Bobby Brousseau, and her eight precious grandchildren, Brandon and Sadie Fleming, Tyler, Cassie and Maddie O'Connell, Robbie, Kelsey and Kylie Brousseau, all of Rockport. She is also survived by her three brothers, Leroy (Lee) Silva III and his wife, Barbi of Rockport, Steve Silva of Rockport, and Michael Silva and his partner Kendall of Crestview, Florida; her mother-in-law, Gloria Frontierro, brother-in-law Patrick Frontierro, his wife Ana, of Chandler, Arizona; 8 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, one great-great niece, lifelong family friends, the Brookses, her two closest friends, Steve Abell, Sr. and Buffy Lee Rowell, along with countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. In addition to her parents. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Joseph Frontierro, two sisters-in-law, Rosa Silva and Amy Silva, and her great niece, Alannah Trickett.
