Mildred E. Parsons Obituary
Mildred E. (Johnson) Parsons, 96, of Rockport, MA, wife of the late Raymond Parsons, passed away in her home on Thursday morning, June 9, 2022. Mildred was born in Gloucester, MA on November 25, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Gustave and Louise (Wass) Johnson.
She was a graduate of Rockport High School with the Class of 1943. She received her pediatric nursing certification and worked as a nurse for many years. She enjoyed square dancing, blueberry picking, gardening and landscaping. She was an excellent baker, especially her blueberry, lemon meringue and cranberry pies. In her earlier years she was the manager of the First National Grocery Store on Main Street in Rockport. Mildred enjoyed the great company of her cats over the years. She was a member of the Spiran Lodge and a life member of the Thatcher Island Association, and she loved her Bingo games with her Bingo friends.
She is survived by her sons Laurence Parsons of Rockport, and his son Eric and his fiancé Aurielle Whitmore of Santa Barbara, CA, and their 2 sons, Finn and Tsavo, Mildred's great grandsons; Douglas A. Parsons of Rockport; a daughter Barbara Parsons of Rockport and her daughter Bianca Piemonte, Mildred's granddaughter; a sister Louise Barker and her 4 children, and many close cousins, nieces and nephews as well as a good friend Paula Knuttenen.
She was predeceased by her husband, her sister Margaret Spinney and her brothers Herbert and Robert Johnson.
Her graveside service will be held in Beech Grove Cemetery in Rockport on Thursday, June 16 at 3 p.m. Family and friends are cordially invited.
