Madeline J. McCormack Obituary
Madeline J. (Neves) McCormack, 92, of Rockport, MA, wife of the late William J. McCormack passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gloucester.
She was born in Gloucester on September 23, 1931, daughter of the late Anthony and Deolinda (Muniz) Neves.
Madeline attended Gloucester Schools. She worked for several years at Gloucester Engineering in the cafeteria. She was an avid baker, and decorated birthday cakes, wedding cakes, and used to bake muffins for her brother's restaurant. She also used to bake dog biscuits and would often go for walks around her neighborhood with treats for her dog friends on her route. Dogs held a special place in her heart, and they would always bring a smile to her face.
Madeline was a Boston sports fan, but her favorite team was the Bruins, mostly because she loved to see Patrice Bergeron. She knew the players, watched the behind-the-scenes shows, and could tell you personal tidbits about each one.
She had a quick wit, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Madeline is survived by her daughter, Toni Rowe of Rockport; son, Jeffrey McCormack and his wife Terry of Port Orange, Florida; grandchildren, Rachel Rowe, Madeline Rowe, Adam McCormack, and Matthew McCormack;. She also leaves behind her cousins, Tracie Gabry and Julia Garcia, and sister-in-law Sheila Neves.
She was predeceased by her husband, William, and her brothers Joseph and Anthony Neves.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no formal services.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to Cape Ann Animal Aid Association, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930 and the Friends of Seacoast, P.O. Box 1578, Gloucester, MA 01931.
