Lucinda J. Seigel Obituary

Lucinda Jane Seigel of Rockport, MA, died suddenly on October 22, 2024, at the age of 81.

Lucinda, the daughter of Lawrence Gerard and Lucille Gredler Seigel was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on December 6, 1942. She grew up in Cleveland and Erie, Pennsylvania, completed high school as valedictorian of her class at Villa Maria High School at sixteen years of age, then went on to earn three college degrees, including an MBA from Stanford University.

Lucinda's business career included work as a consultant and senior-level executive for many companies from start-ups to mid-size businesses. Her extensive experience, in addition to teaching graduate level classes in information systems development and project management, included staff and leadership positions at the ADCO GROUP, Thomas E Wolfe Company, Touche Ross, Honeywell, and Bell Telephone Laboratories. As President of Thomas & Betts Dark to Light Division, she led a development team from start-up to acquisition, producing consistent profits and multiple innovative products.

As a volunteer, Lucinda worked to improve her neighborhood in Boston creating initiatives in street lighting as well as an award-winning neighborhood garden. At the time of her death, she was the Co-founder, Partner, and President of Cape Ann Communications where she was known for her energetic and hard-working efforts to satisfy her customers, many of whom became friends.

Lucinda was a member of the Catholic Community of Gloucester and Rockport. She also always managed to find time for her book club at the Rockport Library and, most importantly, for her family. "Cindy" was a beloved, generous and amazing sister, aunt, and longtime partner to Brett Coty. She is survived by four siblings, Marty (Martha Mary) Seigel, Fran (Frances) Seigel, Mark Seigel, and Liz (Melissa) Seigel. She also leaves behind seven nieces and nephews, Luke Vybiral, Ann Adams, Margaret Vybiral, Clare Powell, Michael Pastorino, Christopher Seigel and Katerina Seigel, as well as six great nieces and nephews. Lucinda was one-of-a-kind and will be sorely missed.

The family hopes to hold a celebration of life reception in the spring which will be posted on the Greely Funeral Home website at http://www.greelyfuneralhome.com. Arrangement by Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.
