Lisa M. Leahy Obituary

Lisa Leahy, 52, of Rockport, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Addison Gilbert Hospital, after experiencing an unforeseeable pulmonary event at home.

Lisa was born in Beverly and grew up in Peabody, graduating from Peabody High School before attending and graduating from Salem State College with a degree in Communications. She enjoyed a successful career as a staff accountant and bookkeeper for several local firms.

Lisa was an active member of her community and gained great personal satisfaction, serving as the chairperson of the PTO for Rockport Public Schools for many years, introducing many programs and projects to help enlighten and entertain Rockport students. She loved theater arts, travel, getting her toes in the sand at her favorite spot on Long Beach, and, most especially her beloved family.

Lisa is survived by her husband Dean, of 27 years, her sons Nicholas and Kevin, her mother Linda, sister Michelle, and a large extended family and group of friends whom she loved dearly, and was loved by in return. Hers was a kind, generous, and gentle spirt and without her light, the world is a bit darker place. She will be loved and missed forever.

A private graveside service with immediate family will be held and a celebration of her life will be held on a date to be announced later.
