Gardner E. Garrett Obituary
Gardner E. Garrett, 79, of Rockport passed away peacefully on March 10th, 2025.
Gardner was a life long resident of Rockport and is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Darlene L. Garrett. He is also survived by his two children Carl Garrett and his wife Catherine of Beverly and Vicki Halmen and her husband John of Georgetown. He also leaves behind his three grandchildren, Lila Garrett, John Halmen and Julia Halmen as well as his brother Robert Garrett and his wife Anita of Lanesville along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gardner was an Army veteran and proudly served in Vietnam. He enjoyed his work as a machinist and maintenance technician at several companies including Sylvania and Parker Brothers Toys. Most recently, Gardner owned his own machine shop where he designed, built and repaired custom machinery.
Gardner was also an active member of the Gloucester Elks Lodge and VFW. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
Visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 10-12pm followed by a service at 12pm. Burial to follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport.
