Dorothy Dawn Aspesi Obituary

Dorothy Dawn Aspesi, 94, of Rockport, passed away peacefully at Seacoast Nursing, Home on March 20th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved wife of the late, Robert P. Aspesi. Born in Gloucester on September 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Raymond, and Victoria (Grimes) Burke of Gloucester, MA. Dorothy was raised and educated in Gloucester, graduating in 1946. She worked at W.G. Brown department store in the cosmetic department for several years and was a homemaker. Dottie met her husband, Robert P. Aspesi at the First National Store in Gloucester.

They had two sons, Richard and William. Dorothy, or "Dottie" known by most, loved living in Pigeon Cove, considering herself a, "COVAH" for life. She enjoyed her family, many friends and neighbors as well as pool, parties in her back yard. Spending time and going to breakfast with her sister Jean was, special to Dottie. She enjoyed gardening and her beautiful arbor or roses were a fine, example of it. Dottie traveled with her husband and lived in Bonita Springs, Florida for, many winters as those "snowbirds" liked to do.

Dottie often spoke of having a happy life, citing her travels and love for her family and, friends. I guess we could agree she had a life well lived as well as a life well loved. Dottie was predeceased by her husband Robert P. Aspesi. She is survived by her son, Richard and wife Mary of Danvers and son William and his wife Diane of Rockport; six, grandchildren, Kathryn, Daniel, Danielle and Shaun and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Richard Burke and sisters Jean Danikas and Patricia Bouchie.

She, was predeceased by her brother Robert Burke. Her graveside service will be held in Locust Grove Cemetery, 90 Langsford Street, Gloucester, on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 10:30a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Legion Post 98, 32 Beach Street, Rockport, MA 01966.
