She was predeceased by: her parents, William A. Nixon Jr. and Gertrude Nixon (Hunter); and her brother Bill Nixon. She is survived by: her daughter Shannon R. Straube; her grandchildren, Madison, Morgan and Makenzie of Rockport; her son Michael R. Johnson II (Lauren E. Ayube); her brother John Nixon (Joanne); and her nephew Bill Nixon Jr. (Rhonda Joyce) of Gloucester.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to: Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
