He was predeceased by: his son David Painter; his brother Philip Painter; and his parents, Bernard Painter and Doris Painter (Hubbard). He is survived by: his wife Susan Painter (Acker); his daughters, Laura and Janet; his children-in-law, Chris and Greg; his grandchildren, Zac, Alex and Lorelei; and his sister Kathleen Hanlon (Painter).
